Fingerprint and handprint engravings must be high-quality, high-resolution images with clear, defined lines.
Blurry, smudged, or dark prints can’t be used — they just won’t engrave cleanly.

Engraving FAQs
What pieces can be engraved?
At this stage, engraving is available on sterling silver pieces only.
We can engrave most flat silver surfaces, including the back of pendants, charms, and some rings (where space allows).
Please note:
• Engraving inside rings isn’t available.
• Rings thinner than 4mm usually can’t be engraved on the outside.
• In some cases, we can fit a single word or small detail on the back of a bezel ring — message me first to check.

How small can the engraving be?
The smallest area that can be engraved is about 3mm x 3mm, though a 4mm x 4mm space is ideal for clearer detail.

Can you engrave items not purchased from Love K Keepsakes?
Not at this time — engraving is only available on pieces purchased directly through Love K Keepsakes.

Is there a warranty on engraving?
Because each piece wears differently over time, engraving isn’t covered under warranty. However, sterling silver wears beautifully with age — it’s designed to soften naturally and become even more personal over time.

Can any fingerprint or handprint be used?
Not all prints are suitable. Fingerprints or handprints need clear, visible lines — faint, smudged, or low-contrast images don’t engrave well.
Fingerprints are particularly delicate; when reduced to around 5mm, they can lose definition. If you’re unsure, just send your image through before ordering and I’ll check if it’s suitable. In some cases, I may suggest using part of the print (to capture the most detailed section) instead of the whole.

Why does the engraving look black?
The dark appearance comes from oxidisation in the silver — this softens over time to a natural silver tone, giving the piece a timeless, gently aged look.
